Arboretum Courtyard
A courtyard flanked by two 4-story office towers was transformed into a welcoming series of living and dining spaces that provide multiple rooms for the employees to meet, mingle, read, and eat. Using raised planters filled with evergreen and flowering shrubs as low walls to divide the spaces, rooms were carved from the overall courtyard space and furnished with lounge seating, dining tables and café tables.

The rooms are further distinguished by the flooring materials used, creating stone and wood deck carpets to define the spaces.
Two large pergolas provide shaded seating areas with hanging light pendants and vines trailing up the columns. A water wall at the east edge of the larger pergola helps mitigate the noise of the street, the neighbors and the train.
A long laptop counter provides a shaded work area while two bars provide opportunities for coffee carts and catering. Two living room spaces are enhanced with gas fireplaces, helping to create a feeling of a residential back garden.
