Creating outdoor spaces that complement the technology-minded work being developed inside, we used a California native palette to form an amphitheater, outdoor classrooms, an orchard and growing space, and a student commons. To the east of the building, we developed a habitable buffer between the District offices and their parking lot to provide outdoor lunch and meeting rooms. The balance of the site includes a soccer field, a gym and pool and a vast parking lot.
